This past weekend, I went back to NYC for a Deadmau5 concert. I had previously given my boyfriend tickets to this concert for Christmas, because Deadmau5 is one of his favorite artists. This is the 3rd time I have seen Deadmau5 and this was by far the best experience seeing him preform live.
The concert was one April 1st at the Hammerstein Ballroom. He opened wearing a shark costume and I immediately knew that this was going to be an entertaining concert. The most shocking thing I realized about this concert was that the age range was on the older side. It seemed that everyone there was at least 20+ and I since I have been going to concerts since I was about 15, I was shocked to see the drastic age difference for this concert.
Deadmau5’s new stage was also spectacular. The photo to the left, is what his new stage looks like. The visuals were insane (that may be an understatement, because honestly it was mind-blowing). He was entertaining throughout the entire show, which is really hard for artists to do. He at one point, came down and sat on a couch with a beer in his hand and just basically started talking to the audience, since his dec was just sort of on a loop that didn’t need his attention. Soon enough, he got back up, behind his stage, and started DJing again, he even put the infamous Deadmau5 helmet on and the crowd went nuts.
Here is a few videos and photos from the concert. (sorry for the lack of quality for the videos)
